Reply on some feedback on a translated work: ‘As written in the introduction page, the translation aims to follow “the original’s text elegant structure as closely as linguistically possible.” This is one major difference of this translation. Every word is meticulously chosen, with no slant towards wanting to sound modern, as the original flavour is to be retained. Elegance might be subjective, but the end result is elegant enough to me, what more knowing it parallels the elegant Chinese version. Good translations should be able to be re-translated back to the original text as the translated has minimal structural changes. If you read other existing translations, you will realise how far they might deviate in structure and thus meaning.’
