Jenny:<\/strong> David, if tomorrow night does happen, it’s only ever going to happen once. (She loses her virginity to him later.)<\/p>\n David:<\/strong> It wasn’t too uncomfortable? Not that abstention from sex is useless, as it is in fact very useful if one wishes to cultivate deeper physical and mental contentment, but virginity itself is a strangely overrated concept. This is somewhat the Buddhist perspective too, albeit indirectly, as the Buddha never praised it as a prize to cling on to, to be bashful of losing. The truth is, most, if not all of us, have already lost it countless times in our past lives.<\/p>\n Virginity is probably overrated partly because sex itself is overrated. As Jenny realised, the ‘bliss’ from it is fleeting in nature, unsubstantial despite all the high expectations and great anticipations prior.
