She then breaks into what I call the &#8216;shoe goo song&#8217; (On The Steps Of The Palace) in slo-mo semi-background bullet time &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s a very smart Prince,<br \/>\nHe&#8217;s a Prince who prepares.<br \/>\nKnowing this time I&#8217;d run from him,<br \/>\nHe spread pitch on the stairs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: If he was more smart, he only needed more guards. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;m caught unawares.<br \/>\nWell it means that he cares &#8211;<br \/>\nThis is more than just malice.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: If he cared more, he would win her over more, not just to have her more. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Better stop and take stock<br \/>\nWhile you&#8217;re standing here stuck<br \/>\nOn the steps of the palace.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: Should had before taken stock, before been taken stuck. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Alright, what do you want?<br \/>\nHave to make a decision.<br \/>\nWhy not stay and be caught?<br \/>\nShould I give that a thought?<br \/>\nWhat would be his response?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: So between totally and not at all stuck, she later chooses to be half-stuck. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>But then what if he knew<br \/>\nWho I am, when I know<br \/>\nThat I&#8217;m not what he thinks<br \/>\nThat he wants?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: If he likes her because she is so charming, it doesn&#8217;t matter if her status isn&#8217;t so charming. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Or, then, what if I am<br \/>\nWhat a Prince would envision?<br \/>\nBut then how can you know<br \/>\nWho you are till you know<br \/>\nWhat you want, which I don&#8217;t?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: If she knew what she wanted, she would know who she wanted (to be too). (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So then, which do you pick:<br \/>\nWhere you&#8217;re safe, out of sight,<br \/>\nAnd yourself, but where everything&#8217;s wrong?<br \/>\nOr where everything&#8217;s right,<br \/>\nBut you know that you&#8217;ll never belong?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: How can it be safe when everything&#8217;s wrong? How can everything be right when you don&#8217;t belong? (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And whichever you pick,<br \/>\nDo it quick,<br \/>\n&#8216;Cause you&#8217;re starting to stick<br \/>\nTo the steps of the palace.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: Always running in time we are. Always running out of time we are. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s my first big decision,<br \/>\nThe choice isn&#8217;t easy to make.<br \/>\nTo arrive at a ball<br \/>\nIs exciting and all.<br \/>\nOnce you&#8217;re there, though, it&#8217;s scary.<br \/>\nAnd it&#8217;s fun to deceive<br \/>\nWhen you know you can leave,<br \/>\nBut you have to be wary.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: Her first big decision was to go to the ball. Her second big decision was how to leave the ball. Why even deceive? Why not let him receive (her and the truth)? (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a lot that&#8217;s at stake,<br \/>\nBut I&#8217;ve stalled long enough,<br \/>\n&#8216;Cause I&#8217;m still standing stuck<br \/>\nIn the stuff on these steps&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: How do you know you have stalled enough, when your decision might not be good enough? (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Better run along home<br \/>\nAnd avoid the collision.<br \/>\nThough at home they don&#8217;t care,<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll be better off there,<br \/>\nWhere there&#8217;s nothing to choose,<br \/>\nSo there&#8217;s nothing to lose.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: But to choose to have nothing to lose, is too to choose to have everything to lose. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So I&#8217;ll pry up my shoes.<br \/>\nWait, no, thinking it through,<br \/>\nThings don&#8217;t have to collide.<br \/>\nI know what my decision is,<br \/>\nWhich is not to decide.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: Not to decide then, is to decide then. It&#8217;s hard to say then, which is which then. (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll just leave him a clue:<br \/>\nFor example, a shoe.<br \/>\nAnd then see what he&#8217;ll do.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: That is really too broad a clue, as many can fit a shoe! Why can&#8217;t the Prince recognise her by face? Why use a foot&#8217;s size in its place? (Hey, that rhymes too!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s he and not you<br \/>\nWho&#8217;ll be stuck with a shoe,<br \/>\nIn a stew, in the goo.<br \/>\nAnd I&#8217;ve learned something, too,<br \/>\nSomething I never knew,<br \/>\nOn the steps of the palace.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comments: But she&#8217;ll still be stuck, without a clue, on what to do, if along comes the shoe!
