A friend once asked me
\nto never forget her,
\nto remember to ‘save’ her,
\nto lead her to Pure Land,
\nshould I reach there first.<\/p>\n

I didn’t promise her
\nbecause me being mindful of her
\ncannot bring her to Pure Land,
\nwhile it is her mindfulness of Amituofo [Amitabha Buddha]
\nthat can lead her to Pure Land.<\/p>\n

Amituofo is already her best friend,
\ninstead of me,
\nwhether she knows this or not.
\nHe already made unshakable vows to help all.
\nWho am I, an unenlightened fool to compare?<\/p>\n

I might not reach there faster.
\nPlease don’t place any ‘bets’ on me.
\nI won’t place ‘bets’ on her either.
\nLet us all just be mindful of Amituofo,
\nAnd he will do the rest!<\/p>\n
