But there is a better way to be alone, be we in a crowd or isolated.
\nFrom the ‘Sutra on the Better Way to Live Alone’:<\/p>\n

Do not pursue the past.
\nDo not lose yourself in the future.
\nThe past no longer is.
\nThe future has not yet come.<\/p>\n

Looking deeply at life as it is
\nis the very here and now,
\nthe practitioner dwells in stability and freedom.
\nWe must be diligent today.<\/p>\n

To wait until tomorrow is too late.
\nDeath comes unexpectedly.
\nHow can we bargain with it?<\/p>\n

The sage calls a person who knows
\nhow to dwell in mindfullness
\nnight and day
\n‘one who knows the better way to live alone’
\n[in only the here and now; instead of anywhere else].<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
