I once listened to someone’s grievances overnight.
\nShe was planning to kill herself.
\nWhen dawn broke, she felt reborn.<\/p>\n

I didn’t give much advice
\nbecause I didn’t know what to say.
\nIn fact, I shared my grievances too. (We wept hard.)<\/p>\n

It was the power of empathy,
\nof being there for each other,
\nof self and mutual acceptance, that healed us both.<\/p>\n

Only with acceptance of the First Noble Truth of suffering,
\ncan we really face suffering,
