Even if you did not change the situation adequately, what matters is having done your best, which surely changes you for the better, which helps you to handle similar or worse situations better. Even if you fall and seem to lose it all, it really doesn&#8217;t matter because you gain an equivalent, if not, greater lesson instead. In the end? There is no real end, be it good or bad, that matters, because the only true endless end that matters is Buddhahood.
