When Shakyamuni Buddha spoke the Dharma,
\nMaha Brahma presented him with a golden lotus
\nand the Buddha held up the flower before the assembly.
\nHundreds of thousands of gods and men were present,
\nbut no one responded except Mahakashyapa, who simply smiled.
\nMahakashyapa received the transmission of Dharma
\nand became the first Buddhist patriarch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
I was wondering if there is such thing as a golden lotus.\u00a0A few days later, in China’s Wutaishan,\u00a0the sacred mountain grounds of Manjusri Bodhisattva,\u00a0we realised that the\u00a0speciality\u00a0drink there is golden lotus tea,\u00a0grown at 1000-2000 metres above the sea level on the mountain ranges.\u00a0Okay, it isn’t really golden as in gold, but close enough!<\/p>\n
It’s a nice all natural tea – supposedly good for complexion and digestion,\u00a0treating heatiness and constipation, and boosting the immune system.
