Yes, it was raining. But it wasn’t raining cats and dogs; just ‘kittens and puppies’. Of course, timely rain is always a blessing, just as timely sunshine is. But unless it’s raining till it floods or drowns, most showers are really just as they are. And that was that… nothing particularly accursed or blessed. Why read so much into it? We need rain just as we need sunshine. For instance, we need rain to nourish vegetation. We need sunshine to give it warmth too. Without vegetation, all will perish – even non-vegetarians (who feed on vegetarians). Who’s to really say it’s a good or bad time to for some moderate rain?

When the cab drove to the western part of the island, the rain stopped. Or rather, it ended where we were. The cabbie complained that the rain is strange, that it made his car dirty, as it made some dirt on it ‘smear’. Er… the rain has to stop some time, right? And every raincloud has edges, crossing which there would be no rain. Even a small island can have a raincloud passing by above. If so, what’s so strange about the rain? Once again, he was seeing the weather in his own small-minded terms, as if the heavens had something against the world (or just him). It was just his biased perception, that he had unwisely set against himself at play. Alas! I didn’t sort out these thoughts clearly in time to share them with him. Anyway, happy lunar new year!

Even if the elements seem to offer mis/fortune,
it is elemental that you create your own mis/fortune.

– Stonepeace

If good weather for you might be bad weather for me;
if good weather for me might be bad weather for you,
is there truly good or bad weather for everybody?
If there’s no truly good or bad weather for everybody,*
how can there be truly good or bad weather for somebody?

– Stonepeace

* The climate crisis however, is nothing relative;
it’s extreme bad weather for everybody in the long run if not resolved!

Related Articles:

Sunny Day, Rainy Day (with a twist in the ‘tail’)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thedailyenlightenment-realisation/message/127
Walk to the End of the Cloud
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thedailyenlightenment-realisation/message/339
This Too Shall Pass
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thedailyenlightenment-realisation/message/266
Just Like That
https://moonpointer.com/new/2008/12/just-like-that-for-now

Whether the weather be fine Or whether the weather be not Whether the weather be cold Or whether the weather…

[1
47,45,309
post-953","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-mix","tag-anicca","tag-stonepeace","tag-sun","wpcat-1-id
["GET
