Nirvana : Go For It

If we do not try,
we will not know.

-Ayya Khema (Be An Island)

Is there Nirvana or not?
Can it be realised or not?
No point speculating.
No point doubting.

As it is worthy, just advance towards it.
The more you advance towards it,
the more will you know if it is real or not,
the more will you know if it can be realised or not.

  1. you know, this guy called Shian.. who is he?
He thinks he is a great philosopher… so puffed up with pride.. a philosopher who cannot accept anyone good enough to be his teacher…
please get his articles off the page.. all that he says has no value… only words with no meaning.

    Get his ass of man!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. please be more specific and be more constructive if you really have something to disagree about. do not however, shoot your views off without stating what exactly you do not think is right.it is most ambiguous. we visit this blog to learn from each other *at least most of us i would like to believe or to find out more about buddhism*.life is too short to be angry at anything(?) /everything(?) you come across. may you be less angry, more happy.

  3. Very surprised at the out burst really don’t know what causes it. Very surprised indeed. We are definitely not perfect beings but maybe we should have a bit of knowledge about Buddhism already and maybe the Noble Eightfold Path? The Right Speech is definitely not practise here. It’s very sad.

  4. Er… never said am a philosopher. If I can’t accept anyone to be a teacher, I wouldn’t quote the Buddha and great masters? Sometimes, writing that is laconic can be read as prideful? Economy of words for directness is the intention – that’s all. ^_^

Here’s something loosely related on the nature of perception?…

Thank you, yoyo and mongs 😉

  5. This is interesting … Tenny.

Not all things written in here that I agree but that does not mean there is no good stuff or totally wrong … Deal to different experiences in life and brought up etc, we all have different views and see things differently …

Heard of 4 blind men touching an elephant? We heard about this story when young or read in Chinese textbook. Usually this story stops at every blind man giving their own views and insists their views are correct, argument started.

In fact, they are not wrong, they just tell what they touch, but if they all combine their info together, it makes a much better description, isn’t it?

This story is also included in (Opening the door of your heart by Ajahn Brahm) – Blind Faith.
