‘Those whose actions are evil are the ones who will fill the Hell of Great Heat, experiencing therein the fruits of their wickedness. It is there that they will boil for hundreds of thousands of years because of their wilful harm. Their own evil actions have thus become their enemies. When they gain release, they will flee, searching for a protector, a refuge, or help. But in the distance they will see packs of ravenous hounds, with jaws agape and teeth like sharpened diamonds, which race toward them and encircle them with their terrible baying. The denizens of hell will try to escape, but the hounds of hell will overtake and devour them whole: sinews and flesh, joint and bone, leaving nothing, not even a fragment the size of a mustard seed! Body and limbs will be completely eaten up. And this experience of being devoured by dogs will occur again and again. All this is said to be the result of killing living beings for the sake of enjoying their meat.‘
– Saddharmasmrityupasthana Sutra
It’s no fallacy at all…
that there are hells as described in the Sutras,
where one’s body is chopped up while alive,
where one is dumped into a boiling cauldron.
It’s true since it already exists in our world.
If hell here is possible,
why not in the afterlife,
in another realm too?
As much as I shudder to imagine
what evil the animals have done in their past to deserve this,
I shudder to imagine the future karmic retribution
for relishing in the evil of such killings.
May none engage in such evils.
May none suffer from such evils.

Horrific! What had the poor snake done to deserve such treatment! The “killer†is unaware of the karmic thingy or just turn a blind eye to this.
He will regret … doesn’t mean he is not a Buddhist, the karma thingy won’t work or can be escaped even if it doesn’t mature in this life time.
My dad and in-law weren’t Buddhists and yet I saw the matured of negative karma on them. Want to know what happened, read one of the comments at https://moonpointer.com/new/2009/01/animals-test-or-taste/ . That was only a small fraction of their maturing of negative karma.:o
Last Dec, one of my bad karma matured! ;-(
I have been deep-frying stuff for 25 years or more and I still doing the same way and no accident. But last year, big splash of hot oil spatter when I was turning the tofu in a wok and landed on my leg even I stand quite far from it.
I had a burn injury – the area about 13x3cm!
BIG BIG blister formed and was very painful. It was a mini torture walking around, with water in the blister moving around like trying to rip my skin and flesh at the edge. Now, it left a scar on my ugly leg! Sigh, can’t wear dresses now. 🙁
Come to think about it, I think it is my retribution. When I was a teenager helping my mom cook, there were few times I saw rows of ant crawling and out of naughtiness, I light some match stick to burn them. Sigh!
So, if one can eat less meat (less slaughtering of animals) or go vegetarian! It is for one’s own good.
