There are many Buddhist-themed movies in the market. Some are packed with the Dharma, while some do not do justice to Buddhism at all. If you are filmmaker and decide to use Buddhism as the theme of your film, please have the heart to make sure the right Dharma is infused. While you might have good intentions to promote Buddhism, misportrayed teachings could demean the Buddha’s teachings. We are approximately 10% into the age where genuine Dharma understanding and practice beliefs are generally fading away. For this reason, it is all the more crucial for Buddhists to protect the integrity of the Dharma. If we do not, who will? Please make films that promote Buddhism and not abuse ‘Buddhism’ to promote any film.
No amount of beautiful cinematography or highly acclaimed reviews can justify a single sentence of misrepresented Dharma broadcasted to the masses.
Yup, correct. And also have some to gave away to old folk homes/hospices etc … let them have a chance to watch …
Any good Buddhist-themed movies?

Indeed, we as Buddhists, can make as much effort as we possibly can, without our present means, to protect the integrity and human touch of the Dharma.
Personally, I have a wish to one day watch a serial Dharma tv series closely made based on the sutra of the original vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
However, since it lacks commercial appeal and monetary gains, I would have to make this appeal to those film makers or aspiring ones who are either practising Buddhists or inclined towards practising the Dharma themselves.
Hopefully, this wish will come true some day.
I think I’d seen Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva drama series in shop before, however I’m not sure if it’s entirely based on the sutra… well, I doubt so. Producers like to throw in non-existent stories to spice things up, which is such a turn-off.
