Dharma Doodles

This is a doodle to share, as contributed by moonpointer reader Jetty (http://tinyurl.com/pg3mrx) Thanks!

The view atop the mountain might be not bad,
but the solace at the foot of the mountain is not bad either.

Comments: The view halfway up is not bad either.
The view halfway down is not bad either.
It’s not where you are and what you look at.
It’s wherever you are and how you look.

Here is another doodle plus book excerpts from the Chinese version
of Gabai Granny (http://tinyurl.com/rxh2fw)

Granny: (looking at flower) Very beautiful?
Grandson: Yeah, but it’s very small.
Granny: From the view of an ant, it’s very big!

Grandson: We’ve been eating only white rice for two to three days already, without vegetables!
Granny: Tomorrow, there might not even be white rice!
(They laugh together)

Comments: It’s easier to be happy when we readily rejoice in others’ happiness.
It’s easier to be content when we readily count our blessings.

Sometimes I wonder…
How far away is the distance between you and me?
Perhaps, it is just a smile away.
Perhaps, happiness is the same.
A smile away and there you are.

Comments: The goodwill of loving-kindness bridges strangers instantly.
The expression of loving-kindness brings joy instantly.

  1. Be grateful whereever you are, be happy and accept things as they are (if you can’t change it). Equanimity and peace of the mind regardless of the outer situation. 🙂
