A Training Bodhisattva’s Conscience?

Why is it that the noblest people
are the ones most troubled by conscience?

– Lois Lane
(‘Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow’ by Alan Moore)

This reminds me of how Guanyin Bodhisattva’s body, before he became a full-fledged Bodhisattva, shattered into pieces due to his anguish at not being able to help enough in the moment. But like Superman, what makes one a true hero is one’s courage to rise again stronger despite them, motivated by the help needed to continue helping.

  1. This reminded me of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s story that he vowed to liberate all sentient beings from the suffering of the different realms of samsara. He saved innumerable beings from hell and yet countless were pouring in hell.

Was I one of those innumerable beings once saved by Guanyin Bodhisattva and didn’t appreciate the compassion action and chosen to be in samsara. (U)

Do I still want to do this again or remain forever in samsara, thinking and wishing life after life would be a beautiful and satisfactory by just creating good merits? :dream:

Or do I have to do my part too as Bodhisattva is all ready to help all beings?
