The Pivoting Point

To someone who is unhappy over middle management:

Remember… the pivoting point for change is the big boss; not anyone else (who is not the big boss). The secret is to focus on changing the big boss’s mind to improve management.

If you focus on changing the wrong person to better the situation, it’s like trying to 铁棒磨成针 (file an iron rod to become a needle). It’s possible to succeed but it will take too much time and energy. Rather than being unhappy that the 铁棒 (iron rod) hard to 成针 (become a needle), focus on the one that is easier and more fruitful to 磨 (file). On second thought, since you are repeating the mistake of being infuriated by the ‘useless’ management,  the primary pivoting point for change is your own mind – your attitude.

The foolish waste energy being infuriated by the foolish,
while the wise focus their energy
on finding the best way to awaken the foolish.
