Thank You for Reading… and Coming!

Something heartening happened on Sunday afternoon.
During the self-introduction session of Project Rebirth
(see https://moonpointer.com/new/2010/05/project-rebirth-rediscover-reflect-recharge),
I asked the participants to share their names and why they signed up for the course.

One said she has been reading moonpointer.com
and that she was curious as to how I’m like,
while another said she has been following my writings since 1998,
and wanted to put a face to the words, some of which helped her during difficult times.

My immediate reply was apologetic,
that I hope I don’t disappoint them in person.
But I also thanked them,
for letting me put more faces to my readers!

Because comments are sometimes few here,
I do wonder at times as to whether there are consistent readers,
and whether it’s worth my time and effort to write on.
Thank you for letting me know it makes a difference! (You know who you are!)

  1. I used to come often last year and put in lots of comments till I think I scare your readers and took up so much spaces … then I was caught up with other stuff and didn’t visit. Will I come again or stay tune for a longer period of time, I don’t know, the future is uncertainty.

Today, I came back to re-read the old post on small talk to Dharma talk. So fast, one year gone! I guess, your moonpointer allow us to share views, only then we know how much we know, do we put what we know in practice (action) or just only as thought and speech or … While putting the long comments here, it indirectly helps me to see some clarity.

I guess, moonpointer serves as a mean like reminder, trying to put thing in different new perspective etc.

Even certain concept we know or think we know but it just have not gone deep enough in the conscious therefore, we could not really reap the benefit of it. Till the day, we all have internalised all Buddha Dharma, I guess we need to read, listen and learn again and again and spend time on it.

Sometime, when I attend Talks, I see only few people yet the speaker still do it wholeheartedly, that really inspire me, maybe not quantity that matter, even there is only one, it is still worth doing if it is a good cause.

It is amazing that you have that energy to keep this going for so long : ) So, A BIG THANK YOU to you … (Y)

p.s sometime just could not add comment (system problem), so people would just let it be, that could be a reason why …

  5. I fall more under the Theravadan school but I find many useful and inspiring writings here on moonpointer. Living in the U.S. it is sometimes difficult to find Buddhists who aspire to embody the Dhamma so moonpointer is a source of motivation as well. Many Many thanks for your efforts to teach Dhamma, it is very appreciated. ( Just don’t let the ego hear that 🙂 )
