The Enigma of Why

The lyrics of this song ‘Why’ by Enigma
reminds me of Dhammapada verse 6 by the Buddha.
Here are various translations of the verse –

Many do not realize that we must all come to an end here;
but those who do realize this, end their quarrels at once.

There are those who do not realize that one day we all must die.
But those who do realize this settle their quarrels.

People do not discern that here we straitened are (in life, in time),
but they who herein do discern, thereby their quarrels are allayed.

Most people never realize that all of us here shall one day perish.
But those who do realize that truth settle their quarrels peacefully.

The world does not know that we must all come to an end here;–
but those who know it, their quarrels cease at once.

The others know not that in this quarrel we perish;
those of them who realise it, have their quarrels calmed thereby.

Others may not understand that we must practice self-control,
but quarrelling dies away in those who understand this fact.

Still others do not understand that we must perish in this world,
those who understand this, their quarrels are allayed.

People, other than the wise, do not realize,
“We in this world must all die,”
(and not realizing it continue their quarrels).
The wise realize it and thereby their quarrels cease.
