India Adventures (20) : Exaggerated Liking

During one of the revision classes of HHDL’s teachings, the Geshela said attachment is an exaggerated form of liking. The attractiveness of the object is exaggerated by the one attached. In order to lessen the suffering of attachment, one has to realise that this attachment is due to the exaggerated projection of our mind, that it the attached is subjected to change… and thus not as valuable as we imagine.

  2. This reminds me of smth familiar… in the sutra of the 42 sections i thnk there is a verse that reminds us that thoughts are illusory…

    “Be careful not to believe your own mind; your mind is not to be trusted”.
