One Or Many Teachers?

I worry for Dharma friends
who learn from many teachers,
because they might become confused
if there are (‘seemingly’) contradicting teachings (that they can’t reconcile).

I worry for Dharma friends
who learn from only one teacher,
because they might become disappointed
if there are contradicting actions (that contradict the Dharma preached).

I suggest taking the Middle Path.
Learn from the one Buddha, the best of teachers,
though we need some other good teacher(s) to explain the Buddha’s teachings too.
Keep learning and asking – to clear confusion, to keep disappointment at bay.
