Why Angry Birds?

Q: Why do the Angry Birds hurl themselves at others?
A: Because when you’re angry, you become irrational, hurting yourself as you try to hurt others.

E: ‘Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burnt – first.’

S: I didn’t like the game much cos it’s literally destructive and quite brainless… just like anger… Okay…. it does takes some skill. (In case this incurs the anger of some angry birds fans!) It seems that many kids are addicted to the game. Might be a good opportunity to use the Q&A as a riddle of sorts to teach them about the harm of anger? Using phone games, it might be good to find constructive (instead of destructive) puzzle games to play, that uses reasoning for problem-solving, that trains patience and reflection.

J: Maybe we should create a Happy Birds game…
S: A ‘Happy Birds, Pigs  and Humans’ game!
