Converting the Converter

A friend forwarded to me an email from a Buddhist teacher, who advocated that evangelists should simply be ignored. I replied so:

‘It’s not compassionate to always ignore evangelists,
especially if they speak to us out of compassion, albeit misplaced.
I’ve spoken to one before, who tried to convert me…
and he is now a happy Buddhist, partly due to our detailed conversations.’

Also, if we do not share the Dharma with them with compassion (if they are open of course), who will? The Buddha too had dialogues with many from various belief systems.
