Mightier Than The Sword

Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford says in the movie, ‘Anonymous’ –

‘All art is political, Jonson.
Otherwise, it would just be decoration.
And all artists have something to say.
Otherwise, they’d make shoes.’

De Vere, by the way, is the prime suspect, according to some researchers, as the real author of the works attributed to William Shakespeare, who chose to express his writings via Shakespeare, who couldn’t even write, to conceal his identity for political reasons.
