‘Maitri’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘friendship of universal love and compassion’
(Think ‘Maitreya Buddha’ – The friendly enlightened one)
‘Tri’ can also be short for ‘triple’.
‘MaitriPals’ sounds like ‘My Three Pals’.
These three best friends are the ‘Tri’ple Gems of the Buddha, Dharma & Sangha,
who offer their friendship of universal love and compassion.
