No Random Recommendation

A message shared with a friend:

Usually, it’s my habit to play safe, to recommend Dharma classes and talks personally only when I have heard the speakers teach before. Unfortunately, I had come across some popular speakers who misrepresent the Dharma quite seriously. I had to spend more time later clarifying the Dharma with those I encouraged to attend their talks earlier. It’s a hard lesson learnt, that even prominent speakers can make big mistakes… Just trying to protect those who might be confused. A good teacher, which is what I try hard to become, has to be extra careful in recommending anything.
