Confused by each other’s mixed signals and mixed feelings,
they toggled between being unofficially heartbroken by each other, the non-official lovers,
and missing the phantom lover that each other kind of is at the moment.
If they were real lovers, would it not be worse?
Realising this uncertainty brought some strange solace.
