Super Short Story (165): Navy
Being the romantic he was,
he joined the navy
for the sun, sea and sand.
But he got too much of it all –
the sunburns, seasickness
and sand in the shoes.
Okay, not the last part.
He wasn’t unrealistic enough
to imagine it would be a beach party.
There wasn’t enough shore leave instead.
Being the romantic he was,
he thought of switching to the army.
