Super Short Story (267): Planet

He just realised that there are hundred of billions
of huge but solo planets,
that drift alone in space,
having escaped from solar systems,
the gravitational grips of stars.

They are as if orphans,
but they are free too.
This titbit of information
brought about mixed feelings
of desolation and liberation.

This reconciliatory thought
crossed his mind –
‘You can be a lone planet,
but you need not be a lonely planet.
You can make peace with the whole universe
without being bound by anything in the world.’
