Wandering Thought #163: Amends
As quickly as a regrettable thought or action is done, we must swiftly make amends for it, for the slower the remedial action means the stronger the pride, and the greater the difficulty to do so later, leading to worse regret. There is the race against time too, of either ourselves or the wronged perishing before the other. Why die having wronged another, or let another die wronged? Among the greatest of misgivings is to not let ourselves or others have peace of mind when alive, and even when dying.
