Wandering Thought #151: Anthropomorphisation

The anthropomorphisation or personification of animals as humans or to be human-like is actually the subtle humanisation of non-human sentient beings. To the extent it is done, it extends our humanity or human values to these animals. Yet, there tends to be other animals in the same fictional contexts, who are yet to be anthropomorphised, who are lorded over by the ‘human-animals’. The day we fully humanise all beings in all real-life contexts is when we extend our humanity to all beings.
