Wandering Thought #166: Reflection

Before we strike a nice pose before a mirror or camera for ourselves or the world to see, we should reflect on whether this momentary external posture, gesture and expression truly reflects the way we are, our character within, most of the time. Is there congruency? Especially if there is a huge gap between who we really are and how we prefer to see or portray ourselves, it is high time to reflect on why we allow these differences to exist, and how we can be more genuine – both to ourselves and others. Otherwise, we might be endlessly inauthentic, which is a form of existential bad faith.
