Confidence: Wandering Thought #228

Confidence: Wandering Thought #228:

True confidence comes from really knowing what you are supposed to know well. False confidence comes from not really knowing what you are supposed to know well, yet thinking you do. It is sometimes expressed as arrogance or cockiness. Never mistaken anyone’s false confidence as true confidence. That said, it is very easy for the truly cocky to imagine and portray themselves as truly confident, which is why others tend to be tricked by them, including themselves! The only way to avoid this is to personally become more and more confident about the issues at hand with continual personal efforts to learn. In the mean time, it makes sense to be humble, as once humility ends, learning stops and cockiness starts.
