Interconnection: Wandering Thought #239
We are at best partially, and not completely enlightened because of our partiality when it comes to the gathering of wisdom. Due to being habitually selective, by unmindful cherry-picking, or paying attention only to the cherries others ‘kindly’ picked for us, for ‘our advantage’, we continually miss the whole picture of reality. What about the parts that require weeding? What are the chances that the tree is absolutely perfect?
What worsens matters is when these picked cherries are highlighted to others, perpetuating the delusion that the rest of the tree is fine and dandy. Not only do the neglected rotting fruits continue to rot, they can eventually infect the ones that seemed ‘alright’ at first too. The next fruit eaten might thus be poisonous. After all, all parts of a tree are interconnected. May we be wise and brave to see all things clearly as they are, so as to do what we need to – before it is too late.
