I always say that the best monster stories tell cautionary tales, of the monstrosities of human-nature. They speak of fact via fiction. Thoughts after reading the graphic novel adaptation of Anne Rice’s ‘Interview With The Vampire: Claudia’s Story’…
What if one lives forever, with others who also live forever, whom for various reasons, such as needing to look out for each other, cannot be apart? (Think Claudia the young vampire girl and her adult guardian vampires.) Would it be like eternal heaven or eternal hell?
It would be hellish if all parties have the Three Poisons (greed, hatred and delusion) that are not diminished and eradicated over time. It would be more hellish if the Three Poisons grow, till they destroy all. Eternal life is just about quantification of material life. What matters more is quality of spiritual life for lasting peace and happiness.
