[121] 富贵学道难,
故请勿羡慕。
羡慕学道难,
故请勿羡慕。

Wealth and honour make learning the Dharma difficult [due to greater tendency to be spiritually complacent by being materially distracted]. Thus, please do not be envious. Envy makes learning the Dharma difficult [due to craving for greater wealth and honour]. Thus, please do not be envious.


[122] Imagining you are beyond reproach
instantly makes you reproachable.


[123] One who is agreeable to all
will be disagreeable to some,
and eventually to all,
for being unprincipled.


[124] May we never hesitate
whenever not needed.
May we always deliberate
whenever needed.


[125] If helping yourself brings some satisfaction,
of course, helping immeasurably more
brings immeasurably more satisfaction.


[126] If it is worth the trouble,
it should not be seen
as troublesome at all.


[127] What good is a book of ‘fiction’
without any definite truths at all?

What good is a book of ‘facts’
without any open-mindedness at all?


[128] Your greatest spiritual challenge
is your personal Mara
but you have a greater spiritual ally
which is your Buddha-nature.


[129] Life is too short
for waiting of anything;
there should be doing
of something else useful
instead of just fretting away.


[130] Colours highlight
yet distract.
