[111] It is not easy to begin doing what is right.
It is less easy to continue doing what is right.
It is least easy to complete doing what is right.
[112] 今未忏悔,Now yet to repent,
后则后悔。later, there will be regret.
今若忏悔,Now if to repent,
当下无悔。instantly, there will be no regret.
[113] Just as the worth of this day
depends on how much of the three poisons
of greed, hatred and delusion were eradicated,
the worth of this life
depends on how much of the three antidotes
of generosity, compassion and wisdom were cultivated.
[114] You can have wonderful things
happen to you by creating wonderful karma –
by bringing wonder to others,
especially the most wonderful Dharma.
[115] ‘Trying’ is the unsteady fickleness of heart,
the half-heartedness of resolution.
No one became enlightened by trying.
You have to wholeheartedly practise to attain it.
[116] Not doing what is right
as inconvenient now
karmically leads
to more inconvenience later.
Doing what is right
but inconvenient now
karmically leads
to more convenience later.
[117] Anyone who is not particular
about sharing the Dharma
as purely as possible,
is open to sharing it with delusions.
[118] Those who wilfully misrepresent the true Dharma
will eventually lose the precious Dharma,
as what one does not cherish by upholding well
is what one will karmically stop deserving.
[119] Those who do not treasure the Dharma
have already lost, or will eventually lose it,
even if it is before them now,
as it is as good as not there to them.
[120] Foolish indeed are those who imagine
they are propagating the profound Dharma,
when they do not even understand its essentials.
Even more foolish are those who ignore
all well-intentioned corrective advice
for rectifying their grave mistakes.
