[71] The more unquestionable
someone or some matter
is said or positioned to be,
the more questionable it is.
[72] Complacence to exploitation and killing
of the non-human yet equally sentient
arises from seeing them
more as things than beings.
[73] Begin to fail
if you wish to
begin to succeed.
[74] The legal is not always moral.
The moral is not always legal.
[75] When we think that
no one is necessarily wrong on an issue,
we should remember that
no one is necessarily right on it too.
[76] Spiritual cultivation is to train
to be as kind as you can,
to as many as you can,
to be as wise as you can,
about as much as you can.
Spiritual perfection is to become
perfectly kind to all,
and perfectly wise about all,
for the perfect welfare of one and all.
[77] Stubbornness is supposedly unchangingness
but there is no unchanging stubbornness
when it meets unchanging truths.
[78] A thousand excuses
cannot make up for what
one sincere apology can.
A thousand apologies
cannot make up for what
one upheld resolution can.
[79] If you are able to
live fully every single day,
you will also be able to
die gladly on any single day.
[80] Just as self-hatred is self-destructive,
and everyone’s hatred of one another destroys all totally,
self-compassion is self-healing,
and everyone’s compassion for one another heals all totally.
