Stonepeace (91-100)

[91] Compassion expressed without wisdom
is merely emotion, that can prove too warm.

Wisdom expressed without compassion
is merely reason, that can prove too cold.

[92] Idealise not, by only looking for virtues.
Demonise not, by only looking for faults.
Realise one and all as they are,
by seeing one another’s virtues and faults,
and how they can become better or worse too.

[93] Thoughts are mental actions.
Words are verbal actions.
Deeds are physical actions.

[94] Always having Bodhicitta on your mind,
your thoughts, words are deeds
will always be that of a Bodhisattva.

[95] Just as there is no thinker,
but only thinking,
there is no mind,
but only minding.

[96] When it is too late to regret later,
it would indeed be too late then.
But it is not too late now.

[97] The older you get,
the less regrets you should have,
because the less time you have,
to rid these regrets.

[98] Don’t miss this moment now
[while it is still here] but
don’t miss this moment later
[when it is no longer here] too.

[99] To never regret anything,
do your best in everything –
from each thought mused over,
to each word spoken and written,
to each action done…
as these form the substance of your life.

[100] It is always too soon to think
it is already too late to do
what you really should.
