[411] To waste time is to waste life,
but saved time not used well
is still a waste of life.
[412] True heroes never think they do the heroic.
True heroes always just do the necessary.
[413] Spiritual moral training is needed for all,
as even a military trained person
is not always disciplined in the right way;
but only in the ways deemed acceptable to the trainers,
who are themselves not always disciplined
in the right way in the first place.
[414] Why await some special moment?
This moment lived fully and well
already makes it a special moment.
[415] Giving oneself too much leeway
for making many little mistakes
eventually becomes a big mistake.
[416] Your life is only as dull as your mind is.
Your life is only as sharp as your mind is.
[417] True retirement is from the three poisons
of attachment, aversion and delusion,
so as to work fully to cure oneself
with generosity, compassion and wisdom.
[418] Refuge in false teachers arises
from over-rating the unenlightened
and under-rating the enlightened.
[419] Blind attachment to rigid systems
supposedly for greater efficiency
is one of the most efficient ways
towards greater inefficiency.
[420] Not living this life well,
as if it is your last,
you might die with regrets,
and return to Samsara’s
same old dissatisfactions
life after life.
