Stonepeace (501-510)

[501] No water pressure, no swim.
No land friction, no walk.
No air resistance, no flight.

[502] With personal shamelessness,
there is no hope
for righteousness.

Without righteousness,
there is no hope
for personal betterment.

[503] How can you
protect the Dharma
if you do not
know the Dharma?

How can you
propagate the Dharma
if you do not
practise the Dharma?

[504] ‘Goodness’ that is ‘good’ only for oneself instead of more or all is not ‘good’ enough.
In fact, it might be evil – selfishness instead of selflessness.

[505] So long as unenlightened,
we are all crazed in some ways,
but the true craziness is not wanting to gain sanity.

[506] Speculation about the truth is
deluded imagination of reality
without sincere investigation.

[507] The already materially poor
should all the more not
also be spiritually poor
by giving up morality for money.

[508] There will be no corruption
if there is no corruptability
or silence about the corrupted.

[509] The real internal police
must be the conscience within.
Anyone else without falls short.

[510] A fulfilling life arises
from living each day fully;
not only its last days.
