[571] If it is very easy to attain enlightenment,
there would not be countless suffering beings.
If it is very hard to attain enlightenment,
there would not be countless blissful Buddhas.
The ease and difficulty of the path to enlightenment
depends the presence or absence of right effort.
Without the right effort, the path is difficult.
With the right effort, the path is easy.
[572] Just as we find it hard to believe
that some are manifestations of the enlightened,
we find it hard to believe
that we are manifestations of our demons.
[573] Time constraints we have
for Dharma practice
are set by our laziness and impatience.
[574] Vengeance is the assertion of ego.
Forgiveness Is the dissolution of ego.
[575] It is more difficult to destroy all your enemies.
It is much easier to destroy all your enmity.
[576] Reverence to the Buddhas is
respect for your Buddha-nature too.
[577] Nothing and nobody is really weird.
They are just really misunderstood.
Knowing this, may there be
an open heart and mind to all.

Guided by Wisdom,
Powered by Aspiration,
Actualised by Practice.
[579] To only worry is to imagine disaster
without preventing or alleviating it.
[580] 因念死而念佛,
因念佛了生死.
Because we are mindful of death,
we are mindful of Buddha.
Because we are mindful of Buddha,
we transcend life and death.
