Tangibility: Wandering Thought #253:
We need the physically tangible without, such as spiritual teachers, events, places and objects as instruments of inspiration, to nurture the spiritually intangible within. Yet, in this colourful and complex world, we tend to let all people, matters and things physically seen overwhelm and distract us from the spiritually unseen, making the latter ever harder to know and see.
Thus do we become more materialistic than spiritualistic. And there is the mix, that still leans towards materialism – spiritual materialism, which attaches to the material as inspiration, though it is meant for awakening the spiritual, while missing this actual inspiration. The cure for reversing this is to recall, and to be constantly mindful, of why we seek spiritual teachers, events, places and objects as instruments of inspiration in the first place.
