Stonepeace (666–675)

[666]

要做好人,还不够好。
已是好人,也不够好。
要做最好,才算够好。

Wanting to be a good person is still not good enough.
Already being a good person is also not good enough.
Only wanting to be the best person is considered good enough.

[667]

Always become better.
Never become bitter.

[668]

Even if others do not do
what they should when they can,
you should still do
what you should when you can.

[669]

The moment you feel like
sniffling in is the moment
you should blow your nose

[670]

The most terrible liars are
those who have lied so much,
that their success in deceiving others
deceives themselves into thinking
they are not terrible liars at all.

[671]

The true shame,
after doing the shameful,
is being shameless.

[672]

The Dharma is practised and protected
not by doing nothing all the time,
but by doing the right thing at the right time.

[673]

When you really translate
what you read for another is
when you really check
what you understand for yourself.

[674]

We live by words, verbalised or not.
Even our thoughts are labelled by words,
and our actions reviewed by words.

[675]

The easiest thing to leave behind
are your words that record
your thoughts and actions.
What thoughts and actions will you have,
to be worthy of record?
