Stonepeace (686–695)

[686]

Life is simple and straightforward
if we do not complicate it with
convoluted greed, hatred and delusion.

[687]

Aim to do the minimum needed
and you might not do enough.
Aim to do the maximum possible
and you will do more than enough.

[688]

‘Comfortable’ numbness to suffering
is what traps us in Samsara.
Uncomfortable sensitivity to suffering
is what liberates us from Samsara.

[689]

You cannot apologise ‘enough’,
to those who are not forgiving enough,
but you should still apologise enough.

[690]

What you cannot say briefly
is either too much or too

[691]

A lower authority that does not question
a questionable higher authority
is just as questionable an authority.

[692]

Since it is us who make enemies
of ourselves and others,
we are our first and last enemy.

[693]

To always be true to yourself
is to know you always have choice,
that you are never a total victim
under even the most dire circumstances.

[694]

If we realise even physical left or right
can be forgotten or confused,
we should also realise moral right or wrong
can be forgotten or confused.

[695]

Most of what we see
is due to how we see.
