Paper Kiosk & Bank?

The following offers the Buddhist perspective only:

Gosh… Just mentioned in class recently (to clarify that Buddhist practice does not believe in burning paper offerings), that even if paper cars are burnt for the afterlife, there are no car parks, roads and petrol burnt. And petrol cannot be burnt as it would be a petrol bomb.

But look what we have here, a gas station! Then again, there is still no real or paper petrol in it! The Buddhist teachings on the hells, where only the very evil are reborn in offers no leisure time for cruising around anyway. It’s where only karmic retribution is experienced. Supposedly previously one of the strongest banks in the world… Did it get so strong that they set up a branch there too? Does OCBC know this?

Gosh again… Just mentioned in class recently (to clarify that Buddhist practice does not believe in burning paper offerings), that despite the burning of much paper money, there is no unified currency and monetary authority for all the paper money in big denominations burnt. And curiously, where is all the money to be spent? Even horror movies never feature hell-beings/ghosts shopping. (In Buddhist teachings, hell is a plane of concentrated retributive suffering; definitely with no pleasure of shopping.) (Pic by Catherine Lim)

Looks like others have similar ‘concerns’!
