A friend remarked that he does not eat vegan chicken rice (which of course has a mock version of the chicken, usually made from fried and flavoured beancurd strips), saying it is strange to do so, that he would rather eat actual chicken rice. I replied that it is much more strange to eat actual chicken.
Here is why… Because it would require cruel slavery, torture and eventual killing. Is that not very ‘strange’, to go through all this trouble, and to put chickens through so much suffering, just to satisfy one person’s palate? Paying others to do all the rearing and killing is even more ‘strange’.
He also said that the meat he eats are already pre-killed. That is another ‘strange’ remark – because most animals are pre-killed ONLY for expected buyers – like him.
