Barricades: NY Adventure 35

NY Adventure 35:
Barricades
Bronze-like barricades the colour of the Charging Bull at Wall Street, perhaps for preventing terrorist vehicles from charging along walkways to plough through pedestrians. Note that they look polished, perhaps to reflect hopeful prosperity. They are slanted too, perhaps to look artsy while discouraging sitting and standing on them, which might be seen as forms of suspicious loitering. They are somewhat accidental street sculptures that symbolise the tension of hopes versus fears. Elsewhere in NY on busy streets are simply crude and squarish concrete blocks.
