As inspired by the film ‘The Dhamma Brothers‘ , here’s a simple poem,
in tribute to those who seek spiritual freedom within their physical prisons:
More than just a killer…
More than just a thief…
More than just a liar…
More that just a rapist…
More than just a junkie…
More than just convicts…
They still have Buddha-nature.
They still are potential Buddhas.
The crimes above are respectively linked to breaking the five precepts:
1st Precept: To abstain from killing
2nd Precept: To abstain from stealing
3rd Precept: To abstain from sexual misconduct
4th Precept: To abstain from lying
5th Precept: To abstain from intoxicants
