The above billboard gives a hint of the heavy marketing for ‘Angels & Demons’, the prequel of ‘The DaVinci Code’ – even in heartland Singapore (Toa Payoh train station). The local premiere will be on 14 May. The ad reminded me of one of the most satisfying movie reviews I’d ever written so far (3 years ago) – on the DVC Code. If you’re interested in some Buddhist perspectives on that phenomenal but controversial bestselling story before catching A&D on the big screen, do take a look (at the blue link). A group of Buddhist friends studying in a Beijing university told me that they used the review as material for Dharma discussion! And I found a version of it translated into Vietnamese online. I’m still continually amazed by the outreach power of the net.
