Only When I Lose My ‘Self’

From the chorus of ‘Only When I Lose Myself’ by Depeche Mode:

‘It’s only when I lose myself in someone else
That I find myself
I find myself’…

… in the depths of Samsara or that of true Nirvana?
Lose your self-delusion to realise the ‘true-self’ of ‘non-self’ – one’s Buddha-nature!

For those who have not tasted meditative jhanic bliss,
there is probably no higher bliss than sexual bliss,
that melting pot of all sensual pleasures rolled into one.
Spiritual bliss however, is much more sublime than physical highs.

Any sensual bliss in the world,
any heavenly bliss,
isn’t worth one sixteenth-sixteenth
of the bliss of the ending of craving.

– The Buddha (Raja Sutta)
