The teaching that
‘we should not simply adhere blindly to scriptures’
is itself in a scripture, in the Kalama Sutta.
Which means that
we should not adhere blindly to this teaching too,
and also question if it makes sense.
Of course, it makes great sense to intelligently question,
both this and all other scriptures (Buddhist or not).
This is the double insurance of the Kalama Sutta!
The charter of free enquiry is a teaching
that insures against possible false teachings,
including itself!
